Benjamin Hochstatter Obituary

Died: August 10, 2021
Benjamin T. Hochstatter III, 74, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away August 10th, 2021, from complications due to a kidney transplant in April and heart condition.
A Memorial Mass will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, August 28, at Our Lady of Victory Church, 4105 N Division St, Davenport, IA 52806, in Davenport. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date at Cedar Memorial in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Benjamin was born in Amboy, Illinois on December 22, 1946. He grew up in Mendota, Illinois, before joining the Army to serve in Vietnam from 1967-1968. After returning from the Army, Ben attended and graduated from Northern Illinois University. He worked in Human Resources for many years. Ben was a member of the local VFW and Legion, and Our Lady of Victory Church in Davenport. In his free time, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Martha "Marty;" daughter, Erin Hochstatter Crismali (Michael); stepson, Aaron Calvert (Sheryl) and stepdaughter, Amy Calvert (John); sisters, Diana Egan (Jim), Gwen Krenz, Jacie Bend, and Deb Corrigan (Brian); brother, Neil Hochstatter (Kris); sister-in-law, Shelly Svoboda; stepgrandchildren, Evan Calvert, Eric Calvert (Abby), Trevor and Abby-Grey Calvert, Anden and Abry Harrington; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; also, two best friends from childhood, Dennis Klein and Mike Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Benjamin T. Hochstatter Jr and Midge Hochstatter; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maycell and Jeff McCartney.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
