Benny was very kind and never too busy to say hello and ask how people were doing. His Piedmont neighbors will miss him riding by with a wave.

I remember Benny from an early age. My dad grew up with him. Every year on my moms birthday he'd play the saxophone for. They both shared a love for Prince, and purple rain. I remember him being at our house hanging out with my parents. The night I was born, my mom missed a Hall and Oats concert. He went to the hospital to see her and played the saxophone for her there. They told me all kinds of wonderful memories. He was such a cool guy, a Crestview legend in his own accord. I can still see him riding around the Crestview neighborhood on his bike. I just know he's jammin out with Prince right now in Heaven. God bless all of y'all and again so sorry for your loss.

Benny. Where do we start? We'll miss you. You were John's best friend, like a brother to me, a member of our family. Your musical gift was amazing- so many times i saw sly and the family stone, mick jagger, santana, michael Jackson, prince and many more- it was like i was witnessing them before me. Your miles on the bike were incredible and always a nice entertaining whassup? Before it became popular. Gonna miss you!

I am so sad to read this. My friends and I have really lovely memories of Benny, as he was such a sweet and funny person. I grew up in Crestview, went to school with him, saw him around the neighborhood. A really great person.
