Bernadine Fredericks-Byron Obituary

Bernadine Fredericks-Byron (nee Geisen) NOBLESVILLE, IN - Bernadine Fredericks- Byron age 89, of Noblesville, IN formally of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2017. She is survived by her daughters: Lorri (Tom) Lazenby, Patty (John) Kambiss and Tina (Cliff) Tudor; son-in-law and dear friend, Al Mitchell; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Szot and Mae Miles; brothers, Daniel Geisen and Jerry (Nancy) Geisen; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her daughter, Teri Mitchell; parents, Leo and Mary Edna Geisen; brother, Sonny Geisen and sisters, Kate Byron and Dawn Sertic. Bernadine was born on June 2, 1928 in Hammond, IN and was a 1946 graduate of Thornton Fractional North High School. She graduated from St. Joseph's College in 1966 and went on to earn her Master's Degree from Indiana University in 1970. Bernadine also was a licensed Real Estate broker. Bernadine went on to teach for the Hammond Public School System and retired with 29 years of service. She was a founding parishioner of St Catherine of Siena Church in Hammond, member of the Rosary Society at St. Catherine's and the Toastmaster's and was an officer for the Golden Times. She enjoyed reading and was an excellent seamstress. Family was Bernadine's greatest joy and a source of tremendous pride. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernadine was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. Her family wants to thank the Riverwalk Assisted Living Facility in Noblesville for their compassionate and exemplary care. The staff will be remembered forever. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 12:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Rev. Stephen Kosinski officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN. Online condolences may be left at www.chapellawnfunerals.com
