Beth Austin Obituary

Beth L. Austin

Beth L. Austin passed away Saturday March 11, 2017 in Humble, Texas. Beth was a native of Shreveport, LA, but had moved to Houston, TX in the 50s.

Beth was an outgoing person who made friends everywhere she went. She was successful in Real Estate and was active in many groups such as Rotary Club, ABWA, Garden Club, YMCA and church groups. Her passions were cooking, reading, genealogy and history. She had a phenomenal memory, and was the go to person for family genealogy questions. While they could, Ron and Beth loved to travel and even went to family reunions across the US and abroad. They would always come back with more family to add to their long list of friends.

Beth was a devoted wife to Ron during their 62 years of marriage till he passed away in January. She is survived by her children: Bruce, Amanda and Kevin; grandchildren Tom, Katie and Whitney; great-grandchild Vito; and many, many more relatives all over the world.

Services will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home and Centuries Memorial Park at 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108. Visitation will be Tuesday March 21, 2017 from 5-8 pm and graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday March 22, 2017.

Amanda, Bruce and Kevin and Shirley: my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Beth and I were friends from childhood onward. We were always in the same Sunday School classes, church youth choir, and in many of the same high school classes. Her friendship remained strong no matter the miles between us.
