He became a Trustee Emeritus of the Grant Board, and in 1998 a park and street near Grant Hospital were dedicated to him in recognition of his "outstanding leadership, enterprise, and wisdom." He was vice chairman of the Episcopal Retirement Homes' Central Ohio Committee, and a former vice chairman and an honorary life member of the Board of Trustees of the Franklin County Unit of the American Cancer Society. To the Julian Family,
I was so saddened to read of Mr. Julian's passing. He gave me my first job at Ohio National Bank in 1949. I will never forget his kindness to me in the interview. I was scared to death. He put me at ease and hired me to be a bookeeper for Mr. Ed Hanf, another fine man. Please accept my deepest sympathy for a true gentleman.

Ellen, please accept my heart-felt condolences to you and your families in Brooks' passing. I met Brooks nearly 60 years ago when he came to Ohio University to interview me for a job with the Ohio National Bank. I shall remember fondly our last conversation when we sat across from each other at
the retiree luncheon at the TAT a couple months ago. He loved to talk about the "good old days". We shall all miss him. A fellow Sigma Nu Ralph Hughes

I am indeed thankful for the opportunity to have known Brooks Julian. Brooks was a wonderful role model for me and I and many others considered him a good friend. I was fortunate to be a fellow member of the Board of the Franklin County Unit of the American Cancer Society and of the Vestry of St Albans and to learn from his leadership. He has a wonderful family and we are all fortunate that he is part of our lives.
