Carmella ROSSI Obituary

ROSSI, Carmella "Millie" (Santomenno) Carmella "Millie" (Santomenno) Rossi, 88, loving wife of the late Dominick Paul Rossi, died peacefully, Friday (April 1, 2011) at Hartford Hospital. She was born November 25, 1922 in East Hartford and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Theresa (Natale) Santomenno. Carmella was a longtime faithful member of St. James Church, Rocky Hill. She was a member of the Rocky Hill Senior Center, and the Rocky Hill Serenaders. Carmella was an avid reader and loved to cook and bake. She was a loyal New York Yankees and UCONN Huskies fan. She will be dearly missed by her family and many dear and close friends. She is survived by her son, Frank Rossi of Lebanon; two daughters, Terry Gagne and husband, Donald of West Hartford and Nancy Griffin and husband, Richard of Columbia; grandchildren, Tracie Gagne and fiancée, John Layman, Carrie Williams and husband, Matthew and Christina Griffin; two sisters, Jennie Cerrigione and Rose Lanzano and husband, Ray; a brother, Martin Santomenno and wife, Josephine; a sister-in-law, Lucy LaPenta and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Barilla and husband, James; a brother, Joseph Santomenno and wife, Angie; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Zina and Ned Peluso, Dominick LaPenta and Sam Cerrigione. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. The burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Donations in Carmella's memory may be made to St. James Church.
