Martha, Wendy,
I best remember your mother from when y'all lived on Garden Lane in that crowded house. She was always a gracious lady, and she will continue to be a loving presence in your life. I know you will keep her spirit alive for those great-grandchilren. God be with you and your families.

Deepest sympathy to all of Carol's family. I met her in 2001 when a group of us traveled to England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales. We left Memphis just a few wks. after 9/11. Carol's roommate backed out due to the terrorists' attacks and I think she was tempted. However, with the encouragement of her children, she decided to continue on with the trip, solo. My roommate & I decided to adopt her so she wouldn't be alone & would have someone to go on excursions with. Although she was considerably older than us, she turned out to be the adventurous one among us! We delighted in her fun nature, as well as her stories, especially the ones of about raising her children alone after her husband died young. We kept in touch once we returned home. Although I only saw her once in person since that trip, we talked on the phone occasionally and traded Christmas cards/letters ea. year. I know your family is feeling the hole left by her absence. May you find solace in the memories of such a remarkable woman.

We are very sorry for your loss. We loved you mom dearly. She brought a great energy to The Glenmary. She had such a kind and wonderful spirit.
