Sharon Darlene Redus was born April 6, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of James Redus and Mary Emma Perkins. This sweet and productive life came to an end on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at her residence in Madison, Tennessee.
Sharon accepted Christ at an early age and was a Charter member of Faith United Missionary Baptist Church.
Sharon was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Public Schools and was a 1977 graduate of McGavock High School. She continued her education by attending and graduating from Tennessee State University in 1984. Sharon was a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
Sharon married Dunstan Mensah and to this union her only son Dunstan was born.
Sharon was employed as a paralegal and accountant of electronic billing until she retired.
Some of her hobbies included crafting, hosting movie nights, African fashion, interior decorating, rescuing animals, cooking African dishes, and Jazz Music.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, James T. Redus, grandmother, Sarah Cato and stepfather, James H. Perkins.
Those left to celebrate her life and cherish her sweet memories are her son, Dunstan Mensah, Sr., grandchildren, Da’Zarian, Devin, Dunstan,Jr., Dharon, Diamond, Dayana, Da’Karai, and Da’Mya and two great grandchildren, D’amair, Da’Seion, Sharon was very close to her brother, Michael J.Redus (Debra),and James T Redus, Jr.(Natasha).3 nephews, and one niece, Dunstan, Da’mya and Sabrina who would visit her weekly until her health began to fail. Also survived by aunt, Delores Hayes, uncle, Eugene Harris and many cousins.
