Caroline Stjern Obituary

Caroline Grace Stjern

Feb. 27, 1930 - Oct. 6, 2011

Our much loved friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed into Heaven peacefully on October 6, 2011. She was born on February 27, 1930 to Bill and Grace Stevens of Snohomish, WA and was the second of four children. She has two sisters, Kitty Clemans of Lynnwood, WA and Dorothy Stecher of Snohomish, WA; and brother, Wilbur (Sonny) Stevens of Snohomish.
Mom married the love of her life, our Dad, Harry Stjern; they had the three of us, Ron, Dan and Cathy.
She loved her family dearly and devoted her life to all of us, doing anything she could to make our lives happier. Mom's smile was wrapped with so much joy and love. She was the best encourager and made you feel like you could do anything! Mom loved to be with Dad camping, fishing, dancing and especially feeding her pets, the deer that would come in their yard. And what a cook she was! She made the best Swedish pancakes and meatballs with gravy this side of Norway, not to mention her chocolate chip cookies and fudge.
Mom lived most of her life in Snohomish but lived in Republic, WA the last 16 years at Lake Curlew.
She is survived by her husband, Harry; and three children, Ron and wife, Bev of Marysville, WA, Dan and wife, Linda of Anchorage, AK and Cathy and her husband, Jerry Anderson of Spokane, WA; grandchildren, Eric (Lori), Ron Jr. (Jenna) and David (D'Neil), Paul (Laura), Aaron (Nikki) and numerous great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Everett, WA.

My heart is broken. Caroline was a sweet wonderful lady who I have grown very fond of in the last 7 years as her neighbor. She will forever be known to me as Caroline "Fish" Stjern as she told me whenever Randy and I brought her fish that we caught in Curlew Lake that Fish was her middle name cuz she loved it so much. Blessings to her family.

I remember Aunt Caroline’s apple pie. When I was pregnant with Michole, our first daughter, Aunt Caroline gave me a family baby shower. I told her not to buy a cake, one of her apple pies would do just fine. When Kitty and I got to the shower she had a cake and a beautiful apple pie with a rattle in it. She always made me feel welcome and that really helped me as in those days I got homesick a lot. I’ll miss going out to Arnie’s to watch you and Uncle Harry and Kitty drink your Martinis, always lots of laughs!!!!

Aunt Caroline was the best. I remember, fondly, when we were kids and Ron, Dan and I would come in from playing by the river or in the pasture...Aunt Caroline would make us take off our shoes before coming in. I love you for that and all the great memories of my youth, camping, fishing, family gatherings during the Holidays, it didn't matter what Holiday either. Such GREAT memories make a life live forever.
