Catherine Eatmon Obituary

Catherine L. Eatmon

Anderson, CA

The life of "Cathy" Eatmon began February 4, 1926 in Los Angeles and ended May 10, 2018 In Rocklin, CA. near son Brad and Kim Eatmon. Tom and Cathy were married 63 years. They moved to Anderson, CA. in 1964 with their 5 children, Marlys, Rod, Brad, Mark and Tom II. In 1968 - 1976 Cathy opened and operated The Village Craftsman with the help of her family. She was a school bus driver for Anderson schools. In 1974 she became the manager of the Anderson Chamber of Commerce and retired from the Chamber in 1991. There were times when Cathy would donate her own wages to keep the Chamber afloat and moving forward. She was committed to the City of Anderson, continually reminding folks to spend their hard earned money in Anderson. Her commitment and love for the small family businesses earned her the nickname "Mrs. Anderson". A few of the Chamber events she was passionate about year after year included raising money for spectacular fireworks in the Anderson River Park, the lighting of the Anderson Christmas tree with Santa Claus, the CAR Mom's program to help the Anderson Police Department with Children At Risk and raising money to purchase the new Chamber of Commerce building on Balls Ferry Road. In 1979 Cathy was named The Citizen of The Year. In 1974 while still working for the Chamber of Commerce she joined the Anderson Women's Improvment Club and served as club President for 3 terms. I guess you could say Cathy Eatmon was a crafy lady that always worked outside of the box.

A life however is more than our resume. We are remembered by how we make others feel. Our legacy remains in the hearts and minds of those we leave behind. Her legacy may be best expressed by her grandchildren. She gave some of them a heart for crafts and others the inspiration to be powerful and men and women of their own. To her children and grand children she told them they could do anything when they put their minds to it. Whether is was painting that first canvas with them, RV-ing across country, making her Jello Pudding pies and always being their biggest fan by ringing her big cow bell at sporting events to cheer them on.

Cathy Eatmon was the best Grama in the whole wide world and unforogettable to all that knew her. We all miss her homemade cookies, breads, cinnamon rolls and quilts.

Tom and Cathy Eatmon have 9 grand children and 11 great grand children.
