Dear Karen, Chris, Emily, and all other family members (and I know that there are many of you-all close and lending your love to one another)-I have known the Hurds and the Harrises for many years. They are fine people and fine neighbors. Chris was raised to be a golden boy who spread light and goodness and fun wherever he went. Although I was not close to him, I saw him all through his life. My heart sank for all of you when I saw the headlines in the Danbury News Times this past weekend. We have lost touch over the years, but as soon as I read the headline, I was instantly catapulted back in time at your house in Norwalk 15 years ago with Christopher in his Wizard costume that Karen sewed for him. His smile was so contagious. He was the happiest child on the planet with his hat and all. He touched my heart. I wanted to have children just like him. He was such a ball of happy energy.
Your family will remain in my families thoughts and prayers during these difficult days ahead for all of you.

To the Harris family -
Did not know your son but know well the love that you and he shared. Hard even to imagine your pain in his loss but hope that you can find some joy in the memories you made and shared and comfort and pride in knowing you raised a young man so strong and true. Clearly, his was a life too short but, unlike so many longer, it was a life well lived and generously shared.
