Dr. Warren was my favorite professor and mentor at UCO. I believe I took every one of his classes and could not get enough of his knowledge that he so passionately taught. I told him one day upon leaving class how I was in love with his mind, and then as so often happened, we began one of our most unforgettable conversations related to Latin American literature, Magical Realism and then, of course, Post-Modernism, the subject he assigned to me because I told him I didnt get it. He not only wanted me to get it but present it to the class, which I did. I learned so much from this very passionate, caring human being; a true gift to his students who were fortunate enough to have crossed his path. Later on, he taught at the UCO Consortium downtown and would contact me to sign up for his latest class, one being on the work of John Steinbeck. Dr. Warren never held backhe gave all he knew and he knew all he gave, and I, for one, sponged up as much of it as I possibly could in the time that I had in his classes. I will never forget him; Rest in Peace, my friend.

Dr. Warren was my favorite professor. He taught my creative writing class at UCO in the early 2000's. I learned who I was as a writer in that class. I think of his words and my time in that class often. He was a true gentleman. He will be missed.

I worked for dr. Warren when I was a sophomore and it was Central State University. The first day I started, he walked in and handed me two sheets of a written test over mythology. He asked me to type it up and you know this is been a while and to run it off on the mimeograph machine and then he left. Working on the test, I didn't even know some of those words on this test. He came back I had it all copied for him he took it into the classroom. He came back about 20 minutes later sat down on my desk and said what's your name again and I said Sally. He said tell me do you know anything about mythology? I said not your mythology because I can't read your writing. He just laughed and laughed and laughed and said I threw the tests and gave everybody an A. That started an amazing friendship.

My friend Clif' Warren was quite a gentleman, and a hero to the artistic community. As the former Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Central Oklahoma, Clif' was instrumental in bringing a master's degree program to the College of Liberal Arts. During the 1960's when he brought Pulitzer Prize winning author, Alec Waugh, to teach at then Central State College. Clif' was an expert of the theatre and cinema, a movie critic and theatre critic who interviewed the likes of Vanessa Redgrave and Jane Fonda. He love his beach home in Galveston. He was generous, encouraging and lived with passion.

More than 40 years ago, Clif taught a non-credit writing course that became a writers' group continuing for almost a decade. I wrote three novels under his guidance, the last of which was finally published just last year. His talent in helping students develop their writing skills ended up changing my career path. I will never forget all he did for me. Rest well, my friend...
