Daisy Lee Holden

"Sometimes God picks the flower that is still in full bloom; sometimes the rosebud's chosen that we feel He's picked too soon." Daisy Lee Holden passed away May 1, 2015. She was a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, native of Holden, LA. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church. Daisy retired from Sullivan Oil Company after many years of dedicated service. She was a loving mother to her children and the perfect Nanny to her grandchildren. Daisy is survived by her children, Randy (Daphni) Holden, Paul (Laurie) Holden, and Sonya (David) Pulliam; grandchildren, Micah (Sandy) Holden, Melissa (Guy) Mistretta, Chad Pulliam, Sunni (Brian) Ammons, and Kayla Pulliam; and great grandchildren, Isabella Holden, Karley Mondrick, Landry Holden, Sydney Ammons, Bryce Holden, and Quinn Ammons. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Efferson Jones; father, Berlin Efferson; husband, Simon Paul Holden; brother, Charles Efferson; and sisters, Evelyn Fayard, Tincy Stepp, and Anna Mae Breeland. Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church on Monday at 9:00 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Courtney Cemetery in Holden, LA. Pallbearers will be Micah Holden, Chad Pulliam, David Pulliam, Bryan Ammons, Guy Mistretta, Eric Bourgeois, and William Stepp. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
