I am sending my most sincere condolences to the entire Auld Family on the loss of Mr. Auld, who made a difference in the lives of so many. I first met him when his son, Dan, was a student in the 6th grade class I taught at Barrington Elementary School in 1979, and then knew him better through my work with the Upper Arlington Education Foundation (UAEF) and the Upper Arlington Alumni Association (UAAA). Mr Auld established a fund through UAEF that directly benefits the UAAA, and his generosity and thoughtfulness enabled us to expand upon and improve our outreach. Most of all, Mr. Auld was an GENTLEMAN who added grace and dignity to everything with which he was involved. He will be missed and always remembered with a smile.

Doug and Dawn Auld - you always have felt like family to our family. Many of the same qualities I admired in your family, not surprisingly, I saw in David and Joyce whenever our paths crossed: kindness, genuine interest, conversation, humor, and a special spark in David's eyes for the grandkids. One time he was on my list where I worked at the time. I was to call him - a sales call. I felt very uncomfortable but I finally called. He had the nicest way of shutting me down - like pronto! Well, he said (just very conversational-like),he was very busy at the time, the grandkids were there and he was just going to enjoy his visit with them. I could hear the smile in his voice and I once again admired the closeness and caring (and the way he spoke to me). I know you will all miss him very much. He was an admirable man and he loved you all very much. Our condolences to you and all the family.
