David Laskowski Obituary

Published by D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home on Dec. 13, 2013.
David Laskowski age 65 of Livonia Michigan died Friday December 13, 2013 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. David was born April 29, 1948 the son of Regina (nee: Wawrzyniak) Laskowski and the late Alfred Joseph Laskowski. David was raised in Detroit and graduated from Henry Ford High School. Following his schooling David entered the United States Army during serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. After his service to his country David returned to the Detroit area and went to work at General Motors. David worked for over 38 years at General Motors and retired as a Material Handler and Hi-lo driver from the Romulus Engine Plant. David Laskowski was known to his family, neighbors, and friends as the consummate tinkerer... he never could sit still, always searching for a job or a project. Whether it was tinkering on cars or motorcycles, anything with an engine held a special place for David. David also loved his time up north at the family cottage on Black Lake. There too was always a project or something to fix which Dave didn't mind. He also enjoyed boating on Black Lake or riding his motorcycle when he could. Dave also seemed to put others before himself, and his wife joked that the neighbors projects seemed to be attended to before her own honey-doo list got done. David Laskowski was the loving husband of Jane and the dearest father of Derek. He was the beloved son of Regina and the late Alfred Laskowski. He is also survived by his siblings, Duane (Sharon) Laskowski, and Bryan (Karen) Laskowski. David was predeceased by his sister Kathy Karney. Per David's wishes private arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home. Please share memories of Dave at his memory book.
