David Mosher Obituary

David E. Mosher, 87, of Crofton, MD a beloved Father, Brother, and Grandfather passed away on May 12, 2025.

He was born November 12, 1937 in Olean, NY. He was the son of Lawrence and Jessie (VanDyke) Mosher. Dave went to high school at Portville Central School, in NY. He attended Syracuse University and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Western Washington College in 1960.

Dave was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1960 to 1965. He last served as a Pilot in Fighter Squadron One Hundred Two. Many of the stories he told were from his time in the Navy. He took the love of planes and flying he developed in the military and turned it into a very long career. He worked for Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman as an Electrical Engineer, working on airplane radar systems for over 50 years. They finally convinced him to retire when he was 72.

Dave met his wife Barbara at a social event at the Officers Club at Andrews Air Force Base. They married on May 15, 1976 and thoroughly enjoyed travelling together. Dave continued to fly light planes after the military, he and Barbara often flew to various locations around the United States. They also enjoyed road trips along the east coast.

Dave loved all sports and was quite an athlete himself. He even earned a walk-on spot on the basketball team at Syracuse. He passed his love of baseball and basketball onto his son practicing with and supporting him through his own high school career in those sports. Anyone that would sit with him could hear many stories about his athletic achievements and records.

Dave is survived by his Son Brad, Daughter-in-law Cary,and Granddaughter Hailey. He is also survived by his Brother Ronald (Barbara) Mosher of Warsaw, NY, and Sister Ellen (Kim) Cradduck.

Dave was preceded in death by his Wife Barbara; Sister Minerva (Alvin) Dean; Brothers Terry (Mary) Mosher, and Raymond (Peggy) Mosher.
