Deb was hugely encouraging to me and a good friend. She always sought me out to give a hug and words of encouragement. I'm fortunate to have known her and was blessed by her friendship. She was a true champion of individuals with disabilities and genuinely wanted a better life and future for them. She will be deeply missed by many, including me. Enjoy heaven, Deb. You have certainly earned your crown!!

We first met Debbie at Christ Covenant, a couple years later she tutored our son Derek, and most recently she and I both volunteered at Central Elementary Care Teams together. Debbie was like a mom to me ever since I was little. We've known her since I was 4 years old (25 years) Me and her kids grew up together, and she was so full of life and always smiling. She was always there to tell ya just how she felt about anything and everything and always there to listen as well.

The congregation of Word Worship Center grieve the loss of our dear sister but rejoice in knowing that her pain has now turned to gladness and joy as she sits at the feet of her "Jesus". Travis, Jordan and Anthony, there is no question that you were the joy of her life on this earth. Her heart's desire was to see you loving Jesus as much as she did. I'll never forget her "BF time" when she would arrive a tad late to an event (that's Black Folk time if you didn't already know) and I can hear her whisper to me during Bible Study, asking if she had a sunburn. She brought joy and laughter to my life. I'll miss that. And you three sons of my friend will forever remain in my heart and prayers because of her love for you. May you find some comfort written within the faith that her friends speak of here within these pages. God bless!
