We were deeply saddened to hear of Dempsey's passing. I had known him since our college days and always enjoyed our times together. The last time I visited with him even though all of the difficulties he was going through he was still fun to be with. He was also surgeon to several family members and we had the utmost respect for his expertise. Sandra, Brad, and Kevin ya'll all are in our thoughts and prayers for comfort and peace. Dempsey and I shared many patients over the years. He was an excellent surgeon who took exceptionally good care of his patients. Those two admirable traits were always reflected in his outcomes. He was a good friend and will be missed. Becky and I send condolences to the Brown family.

A brilliant surgeon and a really fine man. I met him as a nurse in the ER and learned so much from him. I remember the day that he called me by my name that I was so proud that I could hardly breathe. If he knew who you were, it meant that you did a good job. He was tough but his patients loved him. He later cared for my aunt and I had never realized how much he truly did love his job or noticed how he treated it as though he had been given a huge task to do for mankind. When my aunt was dying, he came every single day to see her. Every day he came in and gave her a big hug and told her that he wished he was smart enough to cure her cancer. He thanked her for trusting him as her doctor and told her he would see her the next day. 7 days a week, he came to see her. It doesn't happen any more. Such a good man who took his gift as a surgeon as an honor bestowed on him by God. May the peace of Christ be with you all as he is welcomed to heaven.

Dempsey was the first person I met in Macon after our family moved here from Perry in about 1952. His family lived but a short distance up a brick trail connecting our two houses.
We remained friends since, and I take it that I had the better end of that deal.
Dempsey is gone from us and yet the memories linger own and haunt me. Fate rearranges the ordering of our worlds, on a dime's time.
I miss Dempsey as I am certain many others also do so.
Please - those w of you who know Sandra closely, be sure she knows to be free to call on me now or later if and to the extent of need of whatever type I an offer.
Let me know if and how I can help

Dr. Dempsey Brown was one of The Best Surgeons In The World. And Coliseum Hospital was Blessed to have him on Staff. And if you were ever a patient of his you were too. Because you received the best care that anyone could. From him and the Nurses. He gave and expected all his patient to be well cared for. Every body knew Dr. Brown did not play about his patient. He did not care who they were. He treated all his patient the same. And every Nurse and Doctor knew that. I lost my grandson in April 2020z. Someone told him he called and told me he was so sorry. We cried together. To Mrs. Brown and Family he was Loved and Well Respected. A very sad day for The medical World. One of our Best Has Left Us.I kept his appointment cards all these years
