DENNIS DURDEN Obituary
Dennis L. Durden, 73, passed away on June 14, 2014. A visitation will be held in Jacksonville on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Graveside services will be held in Tampa at Oak Grove Cemetery on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Memorial donations can be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223.

Dennis was in every regard an outstanding law enforcement officer and represented his profession in such a friendly, caring but professional way.
He was always like a long lost friend because as soon as you saw his smile and friendly greeting he always made you feel welcome. His talents were many and often underestimated but you respected his confidence and ability to share those talents.
I consider it a true honor to have known and shared many wonderful conversations with Dennis and I appreciate the role model he became in our profession and for his "season" that he served our community. To your wonderful family thank you for sharing Dennis with our profession, our Country and our community! God Bless You!

Phil and I want to extend our condolences to Bonnie and the family. We knew Dennis through Carol, his sister-in-law. We could see what a caring and loving husband and father he was. Especially from the tributes at the grave side service. Phil was sorry he couldn't make it. Dennis will be sorely missed.

Bonnie, It sadness me deeply to hear about Dennis. I knew Dennis through Bobby Garcia, who worked with me at Eastern Airlines long ago. Dennis was a real gentleman. I surely will miss him, he was above the best. My wife and I will pray for you and your family.

Gloria & I just want you to know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Dennis was one of the originals and founding fathers of the FBI's Terrorist Research and Bomb Data Centers' activities that fostered international cooperation in thwarting terrorism. His professionalism, wit, and mentoring touched many. He is a rare breed, who prided himself in the attainment of professional competence and dedication to duty. He was a colleague, a friend, and so...we all are richer for Dennis having travelled this way.

Not a minute goes by and without thinking of Dennis. He enjoyed every minute of life; his good spirit, kindness, selflessness and sense of humor are so memorable that even in his passing, he would still want us too cheer up. He helped me in so many ways...and which includes all his efforts in helping Cinnamon Plum (his favorite horse next door) and when she was so sick. Bonnie, your courage and resilience are phenomenal and all my heart goes out too you.

It was with a heavy heart that I learned of Dennis' passing. My deepest condolences to Bonnie, the kids, and his family.I have such fond memories of him, myself, and my father (Tommy Sikes) at the various collector shows and will always be thankful to him for his help during our time when I lost my father.

Mr. Durden was a kind and easy-going gentlemen. He lives on through his three children. Condolences to Mrs. Durden, Mandy, Joey and Martha. Loved his wisdom & humor, "when you buy a new car just hit it with a hammer and get the first ding over with." God bless you all through this loss. He is at Peace now.

I remember Dennis from Chamberlain High School days. He was a nice person and quite smart. He is now with his Heavenly Father. I am sending condolences to his loved ones.

Dennis was one of the good guys. I had the privelege of knowing him at Chamberlain High, as a talented FBI agent and as an active member in his church. He was also a great husband and father.
