Dina Tsakopoulos

1938 - 2016

Dina was born March 23, 1938, in Athens, Greece to Spyro and Katerina Zysianopoulos and passed away September 20, 2016, at home in Sacramento, CA at the age of 78. She will be deeply missed by her husband John Tsakopoulos of 26 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Maria Raptis, Peter Raptis and Elaine and their children Selena and Niko; Katerina and Anthony Commandatore and their sons, Angelo and Julian. Dina was a member of Greek Orthodox Church of Annunciation where she enjoyed singing in the Choir. She was also a member of Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church and a National Member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies of Philoptochos Society. She lived a full life and took great joy in being surrounded by family and friends. She was at her happiest in her native country of Greece where she and John traveled frequently. We would await to hear of their latest adventures which were always entertaining and filled with many laughs. Dina was always the first to sing and dance at any celebration even if only a family dinner. A Trisagion Service will be open to all Monday, September 26, 2016, 7:00 p.m., at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95819. The funeral service will be held privately for the family only at Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church. Dina's family would like to express their gratitude to her caregivers, Sione and Selita Vuakabulava Tanoa, as well as Sutter Hospice.
