Domenico A. Morrone

Domenico A. Morrone, 83, of Manchester, loving husband of over 57 years of Sylvia (Simboli) Morrone, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2014 at his home with his caring wife by his side. Born in Sepino, province of Campobasso, Italy on March 7, 1931, a son of the late Michele and Giovanna (Notturno) Morrone, he immigrated and lived in Montreal, Canada for many years prior to moving to Manchester in 1963. Prior to his retirement, he was a talented bricklayer and stone mason for area construction companies and also owned his own company, Sepino Masonry. Very proud of his Italian heritage, Domenic was a 50-year active member of the Mt. Carmel-St. Cristina Society, East Hartford. A devout Catholic, he was a long-time communicant of Assumption Church, Manchester. He loved spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Besides his beloved, devoted wife Sylvia, Domenic is survived by two sisters, Maria Chiapputo and Angela Cusano both of Montreal, Canada; a niece, Maria Sanzo of Newington; a sister-in-law, Bertha Zaccardelli and her husband, Tony, of Manchester; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends in Connecticut and Montreal, Canada. Along with his parents he was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Nicola Chiapputo and Frank Cusano both of Montreal, Canada. Funeral services will be Tuesday (March 18th) at 9 am from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at the Church of The Assumption, 29 South Adams Street, Manchester. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Monday (March 17th) from 4-7 pm. Entombment will be at a later date at Parc du Souvenir in Laval, Quebec, Canada.
