Donald Gale Obituary

GALE, Donald Seabury Donald Seabury Gale, 74, of East Hartford, died peacefully at home Sunday (April 6, 2008) after a brief illness. Born December 9, 1933, in Tarrytown, N.Y. to the late Ruth (Lent) Gale and Donald Stuart Gale; he was a graduate of Suffield Academy and a survivor of the 1944 Hartford Circus Fire. Until his retirement, he was a medical photographer at Newington Children's Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marion (Frank) Gale , his son Michael, his daughter Teri (Gale) Hunter and her husband the Rev. Walcott W. Hunter of Kinderhook, N.Y. , and his sister and brother –in- law, Sandra and Kenneth Carrier of Fort Pierce, Florida, three grandchildren, three nieces, a nephew and close friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Joan (Fraser) Gale. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, intrepid spirit and caring nature. He spent the years after his retirement caring for his parents, his wife and his neighbors and was loved and respected by all who knew of his kindness. His family would like to extend their thanks to his dear friend Ed Beede, for all of his generous assistance. Relatives and friends will be received at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford on Thursday, April 10, from 9:30 a.m. until the commencement of the funeral service at 11 a.m. The interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.

I worked along side Don for about seven years in the late seventies and he was the photographer at my wedding. Although I lost touch with him when Florida became home in the early eighties, he is fondly remembered as a great guy. My condolences to his family. God speed, my friend until we meet again!
