1932 - 2021

Doris Shamp Hamann, age 89, passed away to her new life with the Lord on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Mrs. Hamann was born October 28, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Wife of the late Adrian Hamann, Sr. Mother of Adrian Hamann Jr. (Susan), Ronald Hamann Sr., Chris Hamann (Sissy) and Donna Trahan (Kenny). Grandmother of Rachel, Rene, Tina, Brandt, Kendall, Kenny Jr., Ashley, Shannon, Eddie and the late Ronald "Ronnie" Jr. Daughter of the late Otis J. Shamp Sr. and Rita Shamp. Sister of Joseph H. Shamp, Raymond Shamp, Gail Saenz (William) and the late Otis Shamp Jr., Gerald Shamp, James "Tony" Shamp, Joyce Dyer (Merlin) and Carol Cook (Richard). Also survived by 13 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Lana Accardo, who helped her in her later years. Doris was affectionately known as Mim. She was retired from First Parish Court of Jefferson Parish and was a longtime parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church. Doris was a dedicated Mother, Grandmother and Sister. She was loved very much and will be missed by all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Friday, December 17, 2021 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home's chapel.
