Family-Placed Obituary

DOUGLAS KWON, M.D. Douglas Kwon. M.D., 73 years old, of West Palm Beach, FL, died suddenly on Monday, May 4, 2009. Born in Seoul, Korea on September 28, 1935, Dr. Kwon completed his primary education and then immigrated to the United States, initially staying in Texas. He later went to be with his sister in the United States Virgin Islands, where he met his wife, Pattie Anne Benn. He completed his Bachelors' Degree through Arizona State University and later attended Medical School. After completing residency in Baltimore, MD he moved to West Palm Beach, Florida to start his medical practice as an Internist. He was a staff physician with John F. Kennedy and Doctors' Hospitals. Due to personal illness he started to gradually retire from his practice in 1990 but remained an active participant in both church and community groups. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Steven (Nancy) and Herbert (Su) and four grandsons, Logan, Eric, Greg and Adam. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Palm Beach, FL. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, West Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions in his memory to the charity of their choice.
