Greg, Joy, Chuck, Chryl, Sue and Scott,
I was so saddened to hear of Eddie´s passing, and that I didn´t know until now. As you said recently, Greg, only people who go way back still called him Eddie. My family moved in next door to the Axelrods before I turned four, and a lifelong friendship developed. Over the years, as our lives grew apart, we saw each other less, but kept up with important life events. Ed always took good care of my sister´s financial and tax needs, as well as being a good friend. More recently, Greg and Rich did the same. Sending prayers and condolences. May his memory be for blessing.

Hi Greg and Joy:
i called Rich today to discuss some business issues that your Dad and Rich have helped me work thru over my 40 years of friendship. i asked Rich how your DAD was and was saddened to hear that he had passed. Needles to say, i was shocked and disappointed that i did not know and had not responded sooner. Not only was his insight and business acumen helpful to my firm but his friendship and simple casual conversations a remembrance that i will not forget.
May your many fond memories of his love and guidance help you thru this difficult time.
My sincerest sympathies.

Joy and Greg,
I just heard of your Dad´s passing. I am shocked and so very sorry. We had such good times during the little league years, and for many years after, we still talked about those wonderful times of our lives. I always thought that i would go long before him, and asked that he watch out for my wife´s finances. He had always said "Tom don´t worry".
I will miss his friendship, and his utter professionalism in everything he did.
My deepest condolences,
Tom & Nancy Hanson.

Dear Greg and Joy,
Now that the shock is over, I wanted to share my deepest condolences on your loss. Joanne's connection with your dad, when they realized that Ed and Chuck were the "cousins" they visited in the early 1950's when their mom, Edythe, drove them up to CT to see their "Aunt Shane" is still a story she tells to this day. It's unusual when a professional relationship like ours grew out of a deep friendship but that's how I always felt about your dad. I will miss his expertise, as it was without question, a source of comfort as I tried to navigate the ever changing world of finance. But what I think I will miss the most is the genuine, up tempo voice I was always greeted with whenever I called. Ed, with Rich by his side and your addition Greg, built something you and Joy can always be proud of. I am sad to live so far away at he moment but hope to stop in the next time I find myself back in town.

There was a time I new Ed. We started our CPA practices in the same year and played tennis at Oceanview Beach Club. I tried but could not beat him. Friendly, nice guy.

Absolutely devastated to hear about this Greg. Your dad always made me laugh when at baseball or when I saw him in his office. He was always there with a smile and a quick sense of humor to light up the room. It was an absolute pleasure to know him and he will truly be missed by me. I´m sure him and my dad are already talking sports and cracking a few jokes. I pray you and your family find comfort during this painful time.

I am so very sad and heartbroken. There are so many things to say about this wonderful man that had been dealt a hand many years ago that most couldn´t survive. But not Eddie. Not only did he survive but he pressed on and on and never gave up. When he came into my families life in the seventies I knew he was one of the best. Always there for everyone. Although we are not blood related, he always considered us family. Forever he will remain my cousin Eddie. You all have my deepest sympathy and love.

I grew up in Shippan with Ed and his brother and worked with Ed on several cases. He was smart, funny, helpful and very professional. His passing is a big loss.

I am so very sad to hear of Ed's passing! My sincerest condolences to all of his family and friends. Ed was one of the nicest people I have known and I had a great deal of respect for him. I worked with him starting 40+ years ago as he was the CPA for my Dad's business. He meant the WORLD to my Mom and Dad. Always cordial, grounded and trustworthy....all the while with a smile. He was a generous man and will be missed. He called each of us on our birthday annually and that little gesture was so very meaningful. That was Ed. We will all feel the void but so grateful to have had him in our lives! Cordially, Anita Rycenga

To Greg, Hayley and Joy, Sue and family - I was so, so sorry to learn of Ed's passing. I knew him as a trusted friend, accountant and colleague who helped me in so many ways over the 30+ years I knew him. But more than that, I knew him as a loving father and grandfather, a valued member of the Darien community and a superb, devout man in every sense of the word. No matter what was needed, Ed was there to help with his wonderful smile, stellar intellect and generous nature. He was loved and respected by many of us and will be terribly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Betsy Carter

I am very sorry to hear about Eddie's passing. We met in Kindergarten and went through Hebrew School together. He was a great guy, always warm and friendly, and I always enjoyed seeing throughout the years. May his memory be for a blessing. Much love to the family during this time of sadness.
