Cary
Edward Joseph Krynicki was taken home to the Lord tragically in an accident Friday, April 6, 2012 in Cary NC. Eddie was the beloved son of Gary Carl Krynicki and Margie Walker. Eddie was born in Berlin Germany and enjoyed travel as part of a military family. He lived in Berlin Germany, Washington State, Okinawa, Japan, Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville NC, and Panama, and then spent his last years in NC at Ft Bragg and Cary. Eddie was a graduate of Cary High School and trained for a brief time at Wake Technical Community College. He learned to cook at an early age enjoying watching his father cook family meals for his Polish American family. Eddie began his first apprenticeship in the culinary arts when he was seventeen. He worked at Maximillian's restaurant at both locations. Eddie worked at Maximillian's for many years and moved up the ranks from kitchen helper to sous chef and eventually became the executive chef at Maximillian's. He also worked for a brief time at Herons of Cary, and Solas in Raleigh. Eddie's exquisite sense of flavors and taste in his food creations came from his diverse world travels in Asia and South America.
Eddie is survived by his parents, Gary Krynicki and Margie Walker; grandfather, Joseph Walker; sisters and brother in laws, Amy and Noah Wellman and Melanie and Adam Long; nieces and nephews, Mollie, Makyla, John Wyatt, and Isaac Long; stepmother, Jean Ristaino; stepbrother, Joseph Ristaino; stepsister, Sarah Ristaino; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive condolences at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary NC Tuesday evening, April 10, 2012 from 6:30-9:00p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Apex NC on Wednesday morning, April 11, 2012 at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Cary NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Edward J. Krynicki Culinary Arts Scholarship fund at the Wake Tech Foundation.

I wanted to express my sadness to you about the loss of your son Eddie. He sounds like a wonderful young man and an extraordinary chef. I met Eddie some years ago at Maximillian's when we were there with our son. Justin knew Eddie from CHS where they were weight lifting buddies and Justin told us that Eddie was a really nice guy. At the time we met Eddie, it was not very long since our younger son had died. We were absolutely devastated and I am the one who sent you the message from Compassionate Friends. My husband and I went to the group for support. For us, it was helpful to meet other parents who have gone thru this. I now volunteer with various jobs for the group and one is to reach out to the newly bereaved. It is always such a tragedy when the world loses someone with so much potential, so much life still to live. I never saw you without a smile, it was always unexpected moments we would see each other. I think that's why it is hard to accept, I am still just waiting for the next time I randomly run into you. You had an amazing heart and soul. Always smiling, just a great person. My condolences to Eddie's family and friends.
I prepared Eddie's taxes a couple of years ago, and when I found out that he was a chef at Maximillian's I went on and on about how much my husband and I liked the restaurant and had been eating there for years. Eddie made a special trip back to the office a few hours later with two cups of his homemade gelato for me to take home. Whenever we went to the restaurant after that, he always took the time to say hello or stop by the table with a little something extra for us, which made us feel so welcome.
I know Eddie will always stay in your hearts through your memories of him.

Our deepest sympathy to the family in this great loss. We met Eddie while he was cooking at Maximillian's. He enjoyed preparing creative and special dishes for us when we visited Gayle and Michael there. He always had with a smile and happy face--so very hard for you to lose him so young and so suddenly.

I remember getting a personal 2 am meal from Eddie at Hot Point in Cary one night after He, Zach, and I left some friendly gathering and needed a Gypsies and Waffle House substitute. Eddie made calamary and some other fine yummies! This was in high school! Eddie you will be missed my friend. With all my love. God Bless you on your way to God's Kingdom! I was so sad to hear about Eddie and my thoughts have been with you all since I heard. Hang in there and know you have a bunch of friends here hurting for you and thinking of you..
I'll always remember when I walked into Max's, I'd immediately glance to my left to see if Eddie was there. We'd strike up a conversation about what was going on with him, his father, the food and what we should order. I always enjoyed those conversations and will keep them in my thoughts forever.

Knowing Eddie as I grew up in our school years has been such a blessing. Being able to know someone who made the same impact on everyone he met throughout his lifetime. As I read all the messages left for him I now know not only do we have an Angel watching over all of us, we all experienced knowing an angel on earth. I'm saddened to hear of Eddie's passing. I went to CHS with him and have thought of him often through the years. My youngest son is named Edward (Eddie), not after your Eddie, but in selecting the name, I shared with my husband that all of the Eddie's I'd ever known (two from CHS) - were fun, smart, cute, athletic, and popular.
