Elizabeth Watson Obituary

Elizabeth "Pinkie" (Strong) Watson, 85, departed her earthly life on Monday, (March 3, 2003). Born in Hartford to the late Otis and Florence Strong, she was a life long resident of Hartford. "Pinkie" was a life long member of Faith Congregational Church U.C.C. serving on the Chancel Choir for over 25 years, a member of the Women's Home League, The Salvation Army (North End Corp), a member of the Senior Citizen Center, (Tuscan Homes), Faith Social Club, Club 15 Inc., and a lifetime member of The NAACP. She is survived by a son Otis Slade-Watson of Hartford; three daughters, Brenda Chapman of North Windham, Florence Parrish of Manchester and Rose Marie Baker of Chaplin. She is survived by six sisters, Ethnal Reaves, Eleanor Manselle, Alice Ray, Gladys Stewart, Beatrice Wilburn and Barbara Wiggins; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her son Joseph Donald Zelle Watson, Jr. Homegoing services are Friday at 11 a.m. with viewing one hour prior at Broadview Community Church, 45 Oliver Street, Hartford. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Imani Fellowship Community Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 282, Hartford, CT 06147-0282. Funeral arrangements by the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel.
