As his Godparents we have many fond memories. We were there for his baptism, his confirmation, many birthdays and Christmas times. We shared many family times with his parents and siblings, along with our two children. Eric loved animals. One time when we were having a get together in our home, our daughter and son in law had not been married long when they acquired a Pekingese puppy and named him Gremlin. Eric could not divert his attention in any way from that little puppy, to the point that we were worried Gremlin might bite him but that did not happen and Gremlin was the hit of the day. One time a few years later Leroy, Dollien, and Eric joined us at the Lake of the Ozarks where we, for a time, had a lake front home. By this time, the parents of Gremlin had two little boys, Andy & Jeff. It was Jeff's birthday and one of his gifts was one of these Little Tyke cars that could be moved around by little feet. Jeff took off in a flash, down the hall and right to the top of the steps going to the lower floor.....just as the little car was tipping, Eric, in a split second and about two steps, grabbed that little car and kept it from crashing down that stairway. We were so thankful and I do hope we all gave him his due praise and I think we did. We were not around him as he entered his fatherhood days, but when I think of his quick thinking action that day, I am confident that he was a great Daddy and while we can praise God for his life and love for his family and friends, it is difficult to understand how he could be gone. For all those who loved and needed him we pray for God's peace, the peace that surpasses all human understanding.

I will never forget how Eric ask me if I needed help during the great flood in the winter of 2015/2016. I took him up on the offer and his help proved was essential in saving my house from the flood. He also provided me with a heater to keep my house warm because I had no power. What amazes me is that Eric didn't know me at the time, he just saw me as someone who needed help and I thank God for his help and the friendship that followed.
