ERIC ROSS Obituary
died suddenly on September 9, 2018 from cardiac arrest after mountain biking. Born on August 23, 1969 in Livingston, New Jersey, he was the beloved son of Stuart Ross and Shirley Martin and stepson of Marjorie Ross. Devoted and loving father to Donovan and Harrison; cherished brother of Kara and her husband Larry, and Michael and his wife Aubrey; dedicated husband for twenty-four years to Jennifer Ross; adored uncle of Brooke, Ethan and Amy; and treasured nephew of Paul and Nancy. Eric's untimely passing will leave a huge void for all those who knew and loved him. An accomplished attorney, Eric was the Chief Compliance Officer at Avenue Capital Group. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1991, and earned his law degree from New York Law School. Eric had a zest for life and adventure. He was an avid skier and biker. Generous and kind, he could fill a room with his warmth and his infectious laugh. His enthusiasm and energy, his humor, and his generous spirit will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, at 9:45am at Temple Israel of the City of New York, 112 East 75th Street, New York City.

My sincere condolences to the entire Ross family. As one of many memories, I had the distinct pleasure of coaching youth (5 to 9 year olds) little league with Eric for 4 years. Eric's passion, energy and enthusiasm were infectious and he was an amazing role model to the kids (and adults). He will be greatly missed.

My deepest condolences to Eric's family. I've worked with Eric for the last 8 years and truly admired him. He was one of the first people I met when I started working at Avenue and I can remember his enthusiasm and sincerity in how he spoke and how he acted. Over the years he's become one of my go to's, for both work related and non work related issues. Things are going to be very different without him, he will be missed.

If I were to describe Eric in one statement It would be his infectious laughter and happy smile that could light up a room. We met during my daughter's high school years since she was dating his younger brother Michael. We shared many a holiday and celebrations together, memories I still treasure. I still regard them all as family. Rest In Peace sweet Eric. You will be missed.

I'm shocked and saddened. No words. Eric was the cool "older brother" I had while I was in high school. He and his sister Kara gave his brother and me an epic "prom night" at the Rainbow Room after they found out we kids were banned from the school event. I'll never forget his kindness, his humor and of course, his amazing laugh. My heartfelt condolences to Shirley, Stuart, Jen, Harrison, Donovan, Michael & Aubrey, Kara & Larry and the extended family. May Eric's memory be a blessing to us all.

I worked with Eric at Avenue Capital Group from July 2016-Nov 2017. He was always warm, helpful, and entertaining. I am so shocked and so sad to hear about his passing. My thoughts go out ot his loved ones.
