I have done alot of thinking as to what to write and there is still not enough words to express how very special Aunt Eula Mae was and how much I love her and she loved everyone. My heart breaks for Uncle CJ and the whole family of Joe and Gail and Debbie and her family and especially my godmother Ceretha and godfather Jimmy and Jay and Jenny and their families. The whole family accepted me as one of their own and loved me so very much. I have to say Aunt Eula Mae cooked the best country cooking and she loved my kids and she always was so very kind. I will miss her so much but I know that she is in a better place with the Lord and she is not suffering any longer but she is looking down on her family and friends and she is a true angel to us all. My love goes to each and everyone. I could not be there but across the miles, I was with you in spirit and I am thinking of each of you and sending my love.

Dear C. J., Ceretha, Debbie, and Joe and the extended family,
Our hearts go out to each of you. We loved your wife and Mom so much; she was such a special lady. No matter what her situation, she had a positive outlook. I remember her talking to Mom on the phone and at Lucy's visitation and telling her it "was o.k. either way it went" when she referred to her upcoming surgery.
We know now that it is definitely wonderful for her. Can you imagine the joy she had when she saw Aunt Losia, Uncle Noah and Ma Coker. I'll bet they talked a little bit, don't you.
She's also singing in the angel choir and visiting with Jesus. She loved the Lord and constantly gave Him credit for what she had and praised Him in every situation.
Just remember we love you and we're praying for you.

Dear family, my friends----How we loved Mrs. Shirley. A kind and genuine person whose heart bonded with our hearts. Her life and service counted for much good, as her outreach was shown every day as we would have those chance encounters. As well as those special times on Macon Road which is among the best and brightest of our memories. A wonderful chapter with a precious lady, a friend who befriended and made us smile.

We are very sadden to hear about Miss Shirley. She was a dear Christian lady that will be miss by all. We both remember her from the Krystal on Wynnnton. It was always a treat for me to go in and see her at the counter. Your whole family will be in our prayers this week.

Mr. Shirley & family, We send our love and condolences. Mrs. Shirley always had a smile and words of cheer no matter how sick she may have been. The Krystal was Mrs. Shirley and her friend, Mrs. Phillips. We feel so close to your family throughout these years and you know we hold you in our hearts and prayers at this time. Ceretha, I can remember when you and I were in school together, our moms worked near each other on Wynnton Road. My mom worked at Wynnton Pharmacy and they used to talk to each other quite a bit. My mom passed away in 2006 so I know quite well what you are going through. My prayers are with you and your family.

Mr. Shirley and family:
We love all of you very much and have you in our prayers. We know what you are going through at this time. We share in your sorrow and happiness in knowing that she is in a better place and singing with the angels today. Mrs. Shirley will be missed by all of us (all through her life and ours, we were all her children) and we cherish that in our pocket of memories in working under her and loving her as our friend.
We have memories in our pockets.
They rattle among the change.
Our memories of you are treasures we carry wherever we go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give us comfort when we think we are alone.
Yes, we have memories in our pockets, like so much other stuff we keep there.
But of all the treasures we have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
All our love and prayers go out to each one of you. We love you all!
