Frank Kangas Ast, beloved son of Our Lord, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Frank was 48 years old at the time of his death and was living with his mother in Pasadena, TX. Frank is survived by his mother, Laura E. Lloyd, his father, Donald R. Ast, his 94-year old grandfather, Wilhard Kangas, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. The family is having a remembrance for Frank, welcoming friends and family, on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Grand View Funeral Home, 8801 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX from 5 pm. to 8 p.m. Frank was an angel here on earth and is sorely missed by his family, but anticipated, with great joy, the day he would be reunited with Our Lord.

Frank has been heavy on my heart the past couple of weeks and now I know why. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, but one sweet day, we will all see him again! What a gentle spirit he was, all the days he attended church at The Church Triumphant. Prayers for peace and comfort.

Dear Don, It is always difficult to lose a loved one, and especially at such a young age. I believe there is a happy family reunion at this time. I'm sure that my husband Bill will be among the first to greet Frank. May you find comfort in knowing that this is just a temporary separation.
Sincerely, Marilyn Marsh Ast

Don & Laura, I choose to remember Frank from the many memories of fun times we had as kids and cousins. From the family gatherings during the holidays. To the spring break I spent with him in Florida in 1990. Frank was a good person. A great cousin. And, a strong Christian. In my mind, that's a perfect combination. I will miss him. God bless you

I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your son, nephew, grandson, cousin and all of those who knew and cherished Frank. My words cannot express the sorrow of this event but the promise we have of everlasting life for those who believe and will be reunited with Frank one day is so valuable to our peace of mind right now. I send my condolences to my cousins Don and Sue and all of his family who love him.

Dear Laura, we cannot express our feelings for what you are going through. Your dear son, Frank, a talented artist with a loving soul, will always live on in your heart. All those wonderful paintings created by Frank, which you proudly display in your lovely home, will be the fuel to dissipate your sadness. Having shared your lives the better part of this year is a comfort that not everyone is lucky to have! We are here for you, we love you and pray for you. GOD bless.
