George Beere Obituary

George Calvin Beere, 82, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024, in Beaufort, NC. Born on April 2, 1942, George dedicated many years to serving as a cryptographer for the U.S. Government before embarking on a successful 43-year career as a realtor.

George was a man of many interests, including stained glass crafting, boating, shrimping, crabbing, RV-ing, and hiking in the woods. His great sense of humor was cherished by all who knew him, bringing light and laughter to every gathering.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lee Mercer Beere; daughters, Debbie Bowser (Mike), Diane Sheesley (Charlie), and Pam Thorpe (Mike); son, Christopher Beere; sister, Peggie Beere Armstrong; brother, Mark Beere; sisters-in-law, Julia Mercer, Charlean Mercer, and Vicki Beere; an aunt, multiple cousins, grandchildren Travis (Melissa), Caleb, Isaac, Rachel (Eric), Devon (Olivia), Brian, and Andrew (Ellen); great-grandchildren Shelby, Makayla, Jasmine, Andrew, and Tucker; niece, Melissa; and grand nephew, Aiden Luke.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Deane Beere, and his brother, Barry Beere.

George will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, sharp wit, and the profound impact he had on his family and community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
