George A. Hatfield

Newburgh, IN

George A. Hatfield, 90, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. He was born in Baskett, KY, on June 10, 1927, to the late Robert and Edna Hatfield.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. George was the founder and former owner of Hatfield Refrigeration and a U.S. Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Hatfield; and son, Mark Hatfield.

George is survived by son, Scott Hatfield (Darleen); daughters, Paula M. Lattner (Mark), Lisa S. Lant (Richard), Mary Beth Ennulat; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church officiated by Rev. John Pfister with burial in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed at the cemetery by American Legion Kapperman Post 44. Friends may visit 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at the church.

George was a role model, a mentor and a good friend. My dad and I were just talking about George over Thanksgiving reliving some fond memories. He always had a kind word and whistled while he answered service calls, with me, at the Red Geranium.
