George was an active member of Congress Avenue Baptist Church and served faithfully until 2008, when his health failed. George married his wife, Glenda, November 12, 1955 and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. George is survived by his wife, Glenda, his son, Gregg of Cedar Creek, his daughter, Gina of Austin, and granddaughter, Allison Raven White of Austin. George was a beloved husband, dad, and grandpa. He will be missed and never forgotten. George had a good life on earth and now has a better life with Jesus Christ our Savior. Dear Glenda,
My mother and father spoke very highly of George. I was too young to remember him but I have many photos of when he fished with my dad. His bright smiling face just beams off the pictures. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Know that God will give you comfort and you'll find peace in your heart.

Dear Glenda and Family, I was sorry to hear of George passing, but know you are comforted in knowing he is with our Lord. I was unable to attend the service and I know I missed a great celebration as always when a member of Congress Avenue goes home to glory! We are a unique group!! You are in my prayers and know that God will give you the strength to cope with your loss and above all grant you peace.
God's blessings, Ozzie Harris, CABC

I along with many others will miss George. I remember Chuck, Jack and George who were called the Bass Boys. I worked next to George for many years as a letter carrier. So much fun we had. He was one of the great carriers. He kept things going. Just like he is doing now. Carrying mail when he is not bass fishing on the other side. Good luck George, catch a big one
