Gloria Hernandez Naranjo, age 68, a resident of Riviera, Texas passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Kingsville, Texas. She was born November 30, 1948 in Kingsville to Jose Guadalupe Hernandez and Antonia Cantu Hernandez. Mrs. Naranjo was the owner of Riviera Beauty Shop and certified nurse aide. She was also a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Riviera, and ladies auxiliary of Riviera Volunteer Fire Department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose G. "Buddy" Naranjo; two sons, Jose Naranjo Jr. and Bobby Joe Naranjo; parents; and one brother, Johnny Hernandez.
Mrs. Naranjo is survived by one son, Lonnie Joe Naranjo of Riviera; two sisters, Antonia Castillo (Mario) and Petrita Hernandez, both of Sarita, Texas; one brother, Joe Hernandez (Alma) of Kingsville; and four grandchildren, Deandre, Andrea, Joey and Khalysta Naranjo.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited by Carlos Garza Jr. at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Riviera, with Fr. Lee Guarnieri as celebrant. Burial will follow in Rivera at Riviera Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
