Gretchen Chadbourne Obituary
Gretchen Anna Chadbourne, 63, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday, May 20, 2011 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Thursday, May 19th, in Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road.
Gretchen received her Nursing Degree from the School of Nursing at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA, and received her Masters Degree in Social Work from St. Joseph's College in Standish, Maine. After college, Gretchen joined the Air Force and served from 1971 to 1981 as a nurse. She made Tallahassee her home in 1994 and continued her nursing career. She was the former director of nursing for Tallahassee Convalescent Home, Centre Pointe Health and Rehabilitation and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital's Extended Care. She retired in 2000.
Gretchen is survived by her husband of 38 years, Lee Chadbourne, two daughters; Christen Chadbourne and Cathleen A. Chadbourne, three brothers; Karl, Eric and John Ruppert and her sister, Kathy Walker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, North Florida Chapter, 4237 Salisbury Road, Bldg. 4, Suite 406, Jacksonville, FL 32216.
