We are truly sad to hear of her passing. Our thoughts are with all of you, her family. I was able to see her a few years ago, when we met for lunch while I was in Las Vegas. I introduced her to my son, who was 5, the same age I was when she was my teacher. She was truly a great lady, in every sense of the word. She touched so many lives in a very positive way.

Neil, Jack, and Frank - Very sorry to hear about your mom. She and your dad will never be forgotten by the many thousands of us whose lives they helped to shape.

One day at LVDS all of the kids in the class were invited to a b-day party except for one little brown boy. That little brown boy was me. Mrs. Daseler took me aside, held me in her arms and said, "we are going to have a party especially for you." At that moment everything became ok. 40 years later I'll never forget that day.
Thank you Mrs. Daseler for your genuine kindness!

I have fond memories of LVDS staff gatherings at Helen's home. She was always generous in sharing her home and in sharing stories of her world travels. She was a veteran teacher and it was a privilege to observe her in the classroom, and on the playground, where it was always obvious that the students were so very important to her.
To the Daseler Family, may you find comfort in knowing that others are holding you close in their hearts during this difficult time.

She has made an lasting impact on so many of us over the decades she spent teaching. I will always remember her and she will be missed dearly. She was my kindergarden teacher in 1985 and she remember me 15 years later when I went back to visit because my cousins were in her class then. That's just the kinda lady she was. She loved her students and we love her.

Mrs. Daseler was my kindergarten teacher at Las Vegas Day School. When I was promoted to General Manager at KSNV TV 3, she called and congratulated me, recalling me as "Little Lisa Poe." We had a wonderful lunch together at Nora's...she was as elegant and beautiful as I remembered her at age 5. God Bless the Daseler family! Mrs. Helen Daseler will always hold a special place in my heart.

I remember the visits of Jack and Helen at my parents' home... Jack's cigars, those OLIVES, his many hats, of course, the school bus rides. Helen had honesty in thought, word and deed. I was 1st valedictorian at LVDS (there were 14 students at the time in 8th grade). I appreciate the challenging discussions and friendship that Helen shared with me as an adult. She and Jack are missed!

My heart broke to hear of Mrs. Daseler's passing. I am one of the very lucky students to have had Mrs. Daseler as a kindergarten teacher and was even more fortunate to keep in touch with her throughout my nine years at Las Vegas Day School. She was the epitome of grace, dignity, kindness, and compassion. My heart goes out to the Daseler family.

As I sit here with tears in my eyes to learn the passing of Mrs. Daseler (Helen), I think of so many memories I have of her. Learning how to swim with Shotsie looking over me, weekly dinners and playing in the gameroom with all the cool hats from different countries, Kindergatern, UNLV games - tailgating in the RV, and most of all hearing stories about her and Jack's travels. I am honored to have known her and be a part of her life. It's not very often someone can make an impression on one's life but Helen did! I will miss her deeply but will have so many memories to treasure.
