Helen was a very intelligent person, was the best Deputy Director of City Hall, she encourage everyone to
move to the next level, I was one those persons, at that time, she was appointed by the late Edwin Edwards, the Mayor at that time was Mayor Landrieu.
The city was giving out raises ever year.
The Pastors were welcome to come in and
work along with the city council, to bring jobs, community inputs, and volunteers from churches, black and white, to encourage unity.
She gave myself and my brother a job, he work with the city for 30yrs, with the waterboard and retired. We didn't take tests at that time, he was an inspector 11
May she rest in peace, she was one in a million.
She lived on Eight Street
In the Irish channel, a block from Dick Burke, and his sons were councilman and postmaster in New Orleans.
Sleep on Helen.

To the family of Helen:
I met Helen at Antioch Baptist Church.
She became a good friend. After her marriage to Mr. Taylor we lost track but I never forgot her. My last gathering with Helen was at Annie Mae funeral.
She and her Mother were close to the Crinel´s family at one time.
