On Sunday, October 21, 2001 at Fairfax Nursing Center. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret N. Giberson of Annandale; father of Anne G. Parker of Manassas; grandfather of Emily and Bryan Parker. He worked as a civilian for the Corps of Engineers at Ft. Belvoir as an editor of training publications until he was age 72. He was a Lt. Col., USAR, with active duty in World War II. He graduated from Harvard University with a BA in Economics and George Washington University with a MA in Education. He was VP of both the Adult Education Association of Greater Washington and the Coast Guard Auxillary. Gardening and music were his passions. He composed numerous piano pieces. Visitation will be held Monday, October 29, 6 to 8 p.m. at EVERLY FUNERAL HOME, 10565 Main St., Fairfax. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 11 a.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 6800 Columbia Pike, Annandale. Burial at 2 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made specifically for research to the Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area, 11240 Waples Mill Rd., Suite 402, Fairfax, VA 22030.
