Hi Sandra, thank you for signing Jim's book. His burial plot is at :
Good Shepherd Cemetery
8301 Talbert Ave (Corner of Beach and Talbert)
Huntington Beach
upon entering the cemetery, turn left, continue on road. Stop before
the road curbs to the right. you'll see a fairly young tree there. Jim is
in the area left of the tree.
I miss him greatly, it's a pain in my heart that still pings on his earthly
birthday and his heavenly birthday.
God bless you,

Jim and I worked together at Stanton Police Department back in the early 70's. He never called me by my name just "brown eyes". He was Lt. Brown back then and I was a young dispatcher. Nicest guy. Just found out 16 years later he passed. This doesn't say where he was buried but the funeral home is still there and I will try and find out to visit his final resting place.

I am very sorry about the passing of Mr. James Brown. The family lived on Lessue and I lived cross 5 houses across back in the 60's. I knew his daughter Judy, we went to Wakehem school. Sorry we did not keep in touch. But during my high school in the 70's I attended the Stanton Police Explorers. Mr. Brown was very nice and very patient. The group went on field trips. Got to learn how to shoot a gun. I was grateful to learn alot about the police procedures, that my brother joined the explorers and became an officer years later. Again I am very sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace.

Dearest Hubby, today is your Heavenly Birthday. I am eternally grateful for Jim Butchko for being there when you welcomed Jesus into your heart/lsoul. It was a glorious moment you both shared with each other. I have many thoughts of what you're doing in Our Father's House. You loved to sing and you do have an awesome voice. I wonder what your room/mansion looks like. Till the Lord calls me home, I'll just keep wondering but knowing that it's greater than I could ever imagine
Love you always and forever

Someone has to lead the way and who better than Jim Brown… Jim gave me my first break in law enforcement and appointed me a Reserve Officer when no one else would… His ability to see a person potential never ceased to amaze me… The results of his ability to see things in one others did or would not resulted in a long career in law enforcement… Again thank you Jim for the trust but above all the friendship and laughter I was able to share with you… My sincere condolences to the entire Jim Brown Family and his extended Family...

As young men "finding our way" a number of us were blessed to spend time at the Stanton Police Department. Friends from those "Stanton Days" still remain some of my closest friends today, 30 years later. We were also blessed with three men who ran the department and knew so much about mentoring and molding young bucks into good solid men. Captain Brown, Captain Stoddard and Chief Johnson will always have my gratitude for their guidance and compassion. My sincere condolences to the entire Brown Family.

Captain Brown...what a legend he was! We have lost yet another lifelong mentor. I truly enjoyed and admired the afternoon stories he shared with the troops at the "Crossroads to Vacationland." A great starting point in my career and memories that will never tarnish. Thanks Jim.

Jim was a great team player while we worked together at the Stanton Police Department. Our paths crossed later in Palm Springs, Ca. while he was in charge of security for Palm Desert Greens. It was nice to have him sit next to me at the Retired Chief's meetings.
Jim gave to our country and never asked for anything in return.

I meet Jim when I was 13 and I signed up for the Stanton Police Explorers program. My favorite picture of Jim was when he became a family member when he marries our sister. Jim has always been there for my children and me. We will miss him dearly.
