Sorry to hear about the death of Jim. We played football together at Iowa State and he was in my wedding. We served together in the Marines. A great friend and Marine.

I just learned of Jim's passing. Jim and I did a lot of flying together out of New
River, NC. As a pilot, Jim was one of the best. Jim flew me home twice to Ohio when he was doing a cross county flight. We also worked together at
Cape Canaveral with Project Mercury, the astronaut recovery program in the early 60's. I will always remember Jim as a fine Marine but also a wonderful
individual.

One of my fondest memories of Jim was his narration of an airshow put on by EriK Anderson in the JPATS aircraft over El Dorado Reservoir. It was, I thought, a shining example of Jim's ability market the aircraft. His depth of knowledge of both the aircraft and the maneuvers being performed would have given anybody confidence that the information he was giving was flawless and useful. He was a kind man who was fun to talk to and to work with. Godspeed, Jim.

As a fellow Beechcrafter, Jim Lary was so king and gracious to me as he helped show me the ropes as to what it means to be an excellent businessman. He was an outstanding pilot as well. A fine mentor in all ways. Thank you Jim, and my condolences to his family.

I knew James when he lived on NW 40th Street in the 2500 block in Oklahoma City. He used to choose me to play football on his team and the two of us would take on the whole block of kids. Three of those on the opposing team when they were teenagers made the all City Team.
Larry and I never lost to the other team no matter how many people were on the opposing team. The reason we never lost was because of James not me.
I will always have special memories of James even though I did not know him very long.
My God Bless those of you who are surviving members of his family.

It's deeply saddening to lose a good friend and great man. Jim made such a difference to so many and will be missed tremendously. But, we never truly lose the people we love because they live with us in our hearts for the rest of our lives.

I am so sorry for your great loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" (Isaiah 61:1,2) sustain your family during this challenging time. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.
