Macon, GA- Janet Alma Fulkerson, 81, of Macon passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at a local hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will gather at the home of her grandson, Kevin Garrett, 209 Loraine Woods Dr., Macon, Ga following the service.
The visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Russell Fulkerson; daughter, Anita Fulkerson Garrett( Keith); son, John Leinard (Mary); grandchildren, Kevin Garrett, Amy Freeman (Justin); John (Jeb) Leinard (Missy), Katie Leinard; three great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Ann Nichols and brother, Jerry Braden of Kentucky; Donna Braden and David Braden, of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fulkerson was born in Louisville Kentucky, the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Anna Braden. She retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company after 33 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Dear Russell and family. Rusty and I are heart broken for you. Janet was a very special lady. I had such respect for her. We had some good times on the golf course and we will never forget them! We were not aware of her passing until yesterday or we would have been at the service. Take care of yourself, it's okay to grieve, after all, you have lost your best friend of over 57 years.
