Jarrod Sharp passed away on August 6, 2016 at the age of 37 in Modesto, CA. Jarrod was preceded in death by his father, Dennis W. Sharp and his grandparents, Edna Lee Spradlin, Edgar D. Spradlin, Mary Sharp and Leon Sharp, all of Modesto, CA. Jarrod is survived by his mother, Elaine Plunkett, step-father, David Plunkett and his sisters, Taylor Leeann Plunkett and Marissa Sue Plunkett. Jarrod is also survived by the true love of his life, Jessica Davila, her two daughters, Samantha and Alejandra Davila, which he loved as his own, his two sons, Collin W. Jaco Sharp and Cannan Jaco, all of Modesto, CA. Jarrod also leaves behind his Aunt Terrie Ellman, Uncle Steve Ellman, Uncle Paul Spradlin and his cousins, Nathan Spradlin, Marcus Ellman, Amber Brigham, Stephanie Ellman and Brittney Gonzalez.
Jarrod was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed attending games for the Golden State Warriors, the Oakland A's and the Oakland Raiders. Jarrod was an amazing and loving father that always made it a priority to spend quality time with both of his sons. He especially enjoyed attending games with them.
A viewing is being held at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Ave in Modesto on Friday, August 12, 2016, at 9:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am.

Jarrod I am honored to have known and been a long time friend since middle school in your life. Through the years we went our ways as life does but no matter what, you all always remained the same funny, sweet, humble happy person through it all. I had the pleasure of knowing your sons and you knowing my children also. You were an amazing coach along with Brian and Renee. David, Mary, Raelene, My Mom Gina, My Dad Ed, My Fiance Carlos and of course My Brother Robert will truly miss you always. You were lucky to have met Jessica, the bond was truly amazing to see and I am glad you loved so wonderfully before your passing. Jarrod was a wonderful grandson. He will always remain a part of our family and continue to live in our hearts forever. He was a great dad to Canaan and Collin always boasting about his two boys. He was a committed baseball coach to all players including his two sons Canaan and Collin and cousin Shane. He had many cousin in-laws whom he called brothers and remained close to them. We were blessed to have him in our family. Heaven has gained a very special soul. Our prayers go out to everyone who loved him.

I have known Jarrod for over 18 years. I saw him grow to be the awesome man he became. My family shared very special milestones in his life...marriage..birth of son..heartache he went thru..sadness and loss..then he had some sunshine come into his life..he was happy and content with the new love in his life..He always was looking out for his Mom ..grandparents..son..friends...Jessica and him were building a life together with their children.. Jessica brought him so much love & happiness..He loved God..family..friends..We didn't have a chance to say goodbye..Jarrod you are missed by so many..our lives changed forever the day you left...we will see you again one day..that smile and laugh and twinkle in your eyes...the greatest gift you left us was your love..kindness..compassion for all....You can't store up treasures on earth ..but you took with you all the love we had for you...catch you later...♡♡♡

This is so heartbreaking! My husband and I didn't know him well, but we always talked to him during basketball season. My son Ethan is friends and teammates with his son Collin. Great father, very into his sons games. My heart goes out to the family and friends. He is truly going to be missed.

Jarrod was a one of a kind. He made me laugh with that crazy obnoxious sense of humor of his. We always knew when Jarrod was around you could hear his crazy laugh everywhere. Jarrod lived down the street from me growing up. I can remember just hanging out with him and other neighbor kids shooting hoops. I saw him a couple weeks ago in his front yard when I visited my parents. I havent spoken to him since we were in grade school, but I often saw him outside with his son when I drove by going to my parents, he was always smiling. From everyone's FB posts he obviously was very loved and made great impressions on the lives of many. I send prayers and my deepest condolences to his mother, children, love of his life and the many other family and friends he has left behind. The world lost a wonderful man, may he be your guardian angel and give you all the strength to overcome this unexpected loss.
