Laurie,
I just saw this link on Facebook and wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. I really enjoyed seeing all the pictures of your family, and it brought back good memories of days at East Park Baptist. Your mom was so sweet and always with a smile -- truly she was a fine Christian lady who clearly loved the Lord. She'll be missed.

Laurie – lots of love and hugs to you, John, Katy & Will at this time. Wish I could be there to give you support in person, but rest assured prayers of peace and comfort are being sent your direction right now. Thinking of you and your family at this time of loss and praying that you find the “peace that surpasses all understanding” God tells us in Philippians 4:7. It’s so hard for those of us left behind in this world, but rest assured your mom is rejoicing freely in happiness we can’t even begin to humanly imagine!!!!
A verse for your encouragement:
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
With you in prayer....

Laurie, our whole family is so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. While I know that John, Katy, Will, and you are in pain over her loss, she is now with the Lord, reunited with your father, and free of sickness and suffering. You were a wonderful, caring daughter, who enabled your mother to live her final years in comfort, dignity and surrounded by love. May God bless you and your family as you grieve. Love, Mark, Terri, Sarah and William Dickens

How do I describe the Joann I knew? So many pictures flash across my memory. Joann driving the red Buick with the American flag flying from the window! Joann talking to Peppie! Her Shirley Temple dolls! The beautiful purses and jewelry! Joann describing each family member's latest accomplishments! The outpouring of grief at the loss of Buz! Joann was a unique person who always made you feel like somebody with her ear-to-ear smile. To have known Joann was a privilege.

Dear, Sweet Joann! She was a beloved member of the Insurance Professionals of Memphis for many years, serving in many capacities, including that of President. I visited her recently and it was such a blessing that she immediately recognized me. She was a true Joy! Jean Shepard
