Sept.3, 2024. Just found out about the loss of Mr. Gentry back in January. Michael and I are so sorry for your loss. We think of your family often especially when we drive through Farrington. Our thoughts are with you although it has been months since you lost Mt. Gentry. Michael and Angela Farmer.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Gentry at the CSMS, VaARNG, in the 1970s. He was a wonderful, caring, and respectable officer. Throughout the years we have stayed in touch and I will truly miss hearing from my friend. My sincere condolences to his family.

I had the good fortune to serve with John in the Virginia Guard. He was very pleasant and a fine man to be around. It is a blessing to have worked with him and just to have known him.

Great loss to me. I joined the VAARNG in 1964 and John was one of the most important and mentoring persons I have ever met. We had lots of inter actions between us and he was a great help to me in 1979 after I was born again. I have thought of him often over the years.
