John McCANN Obituary

McCANN, John J. John J. McCann, age 71, on Sunday, March 6, 2016 of Roswell, GA passed away peacefully. Beloved husband of 45 ½ years to Linda (Switala); son of the late John G. and Gertrude McCann. Father of the late Shari Lynn McCann and incredibly strong children, Angela Bachner (Pete), Colleen Cichy (Dan), and John H. McCann. Lovingly known as Pop or Poppy by his adorable grandchildren, Peter and Bridget Bachner and Leslie and Sydney Cichy. Endearing brother of four compassionate sisters, Ruth Walczak (Den), Margaret Fest (Paul), Mary Ann Vignovich (Michael), and Clare Theberge (the late Eugene) and brother-in-law of Claudia Duft and Melvin Switala; also survived by many fun-loving nieces and nephews, wonderful godchildren, and a ton of cousins all of whom he loved. John was so grateful for the friendship of the Board of Equalization members whom he enjoyed to play cards with and tell stories. John was proud to serve his country in the U. S. Air Force with a brief tour of duty in Vietnam. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076. Dearest Linda, Angie, Colleen, John and family...

My heart aches for all of you, because I know how much you will miss him. As I grew up, I realized that Johnnie had the same mannerisms as his Dad and the same sense of humor, and his smile was infectious. All who had the honor of knowing him knew how important his family was to him and much he loved all of you!

He fought an incredible fight to beat his illness and although he lost that battle, he will remain the strength in each of you. May you find peace knowing he is now your Angel who will watch over you! God bless all of You!

Love,
Roe Cully
