Jon B. Pennington, age 53, passed on from this world unexpectedly on July 9, 2018. He is survived by his father, Richard V. Pennington; wife, Jennifer (Smith) Pennington; daughter, Heather (Pennington) Fletcher; stepson, Jeffrey Grant; siblings, Richard C. Pennington, Victoria Pennington, and Steven "Mike" Pennington. He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Pennington. Jon was firstly a man of great faith and high character who loved our Lord God. He meditated daily on God's word, delving for the deep truth it contains, contemplating the life and meaning of our Lord Jesus Christ. He lived out and boldly spoke out the word of God. Jon was a wise, kind, generous, sharp witted, honest, perceptive, and discerning man. His daughter adored him; his stepson respected him; his wife, siblings and cousins loved him for all that he was, notably his humor. He was a person anyone was glad to know, who had the ability to talk to anyone despite his introverted tendencies. Jon learned to exercise humility and love in all things. And therefore he became a man to be honored and will be greatly missed. Jon was a member of the Church on Como and a long time custodian of Hilliard City Schools. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Church on Como, 29 East Como Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43202. To all of the family of Jon Pennington. I'm very sorry for your loss. I, played freshman Football at Hancock Jr. High School with Jon. He was always positive and one of the most intelligent people I, have ever met. May God help you thru this difficult time.

Jon was an important part of the Ridgewood team. He was a hard worker and helped make the school a better place for kids and staff. He will be missed. A donation to Como Recovery has been made in his memory. Our condolences go out to his entire family.
