Jon was one of the first people I met when I moved to East Hartford and entered fourth grade at Goodwin Elementary School in 1972. We continued to attend school together up until the day we graduated from Penney High School in 1981. I have thought and spoken of him often and fondly over the years.
My deepest sympathies to the entire Ruggles family and all that were close to him. He will be missed by many.

My heartfelt sympathy going out to the Ruggles family for your loss. I have many fond memories of Jon growing up in East Hartford and from Penney High. He was always very chipper and friendly and would make me laugh. We didn't stay in touch over the years as much as I would have liked, very regrettably now. I would run into him once in awhile though and it was always great to see him. Jon will be greatly missed by myself and all who knew him, I'm sure.

My deepest sympathies to the Ruggles family. I was lucky enough to be part of the gang in Penny High, we had a lot of great times, lots of laughs. I'll always remember the year we all got together at the Cape. Jon was a kind, warm, funny guy, and I will hold tight to those memories.

I am so sorry to hear about John and your loss. My heart goes out to your family. I have only fond and happy memories of John when I was a child in East Hartford, one of which included many sledding events in our backyard with John, who always convinced me to go first. (Which many times ended up with me in the brook !! ) Please let Sussie know she was always my favorite baby sitter.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all,

My sympathy goes out to Jonathan's family and friends. Jonathan has always held a place in my heart from the day I first met him at Goodwin School. He was always very kind to me, and though I haven't seen or spoken to him since early school days, I have thought of him and spoken of him many times over the years. May the special memories you have of your son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend carry you through this difficult time.

We are so sorry for your family’s loss. Some of my fondest memories of Jon are from our childhood. Jon was always running or biking around Hills Street, or out in the woods or hanging out at Foley’s or Crouse’s. Always with a smile on his face, dirt on his clothes and a bit of mischief in his eyes. Who would have predicted we would lose another kid from the Hills Street gang? Whether playing basketball, kickball, softball, hide and go seek or kick the bucket, or hunting easter eggs, we sure knew how to have fun as kids didn’t we? I bet Jon wouldn’t have traded it for anything.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ruggles family, especially Sue, our adopted sister and daughter.

We used to have quite a time during our boyhood. From playing sports to jumping our Huffy bikes using home-made ramps in my driveway, he was a good friend then as I'm sure he was to those who were lucky enough to call him a friend during his adulthood.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family during your time of loss.
