Joey "D" Lived on the top of Beech Street, and we lived on the bottom of Beech. We were friends and nieghbors for as long as I can remember. I'll never forget how he, and my father used to trade tomatoes from each of their gardens. He always referred to my father as the "Mayor" of Beech St. He will be dearly missed.

We met Joey, Zita and Carlo through our good friends Jody and Steve in Ft. Myers. From the moment we said hi, we knew Joey was a great guy. We had a good time with him. He will be greatly missed. Zita and Carlo, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to the Donatone Family. Joey was my protector in the halls of Yonkers H.S. to the playgrounds around Park Hill. I will always remember him driving his green MG and Joey asking me if I needed a ride anywhere. That was Joey, always going the extra mile. A Vietnam Veteran who was a true American Patriot. I will always remember him. Rest in Peace.

We are grateful that our lives crossed paths in Ft. Myers and we had 5 wonderful years of friendship with Joey. They just don't make many guys like him. We have many fond memories that will live on forever within our hearts of good times with "Joe Bro". Our sincerest sympathy to all his family and friends in NY. Love you Zita, Carlo and Christine.

This Sat. I have lost a special person. I knew him since I was 4. He was always considered to me as "superman" tall, strong, and handsome. Great person, from inside out. I am still shocked he is gone.He fought for this country and again at the end had to fight for his life battle against cancer but cancer won. I am only happy he is not in pain anymore. He is finally resting calm and has now become an angel to watch over us. My own son cried over his death and he saw him twice, this is how special he was , how he can touch someone's life so quickly with his smile and friendship and warm heart. He was the greatest and he will never be forgotten. I love you so much Joey!!!! May you finally rest in Peace!!! XO

Who could ask for a better friend than you, Joe? We knew you as Max, Mike Callan's (my brother) best friend and you were there for Mike as he battled his cancer. I belive that there is ONE big PARTY going on right now. May Max be blessed with the peace that he left anyone who knew him or came in contact with him. Joe was truly a GREAT guy.

There are no words to express the sadness I feel in Joe's passing. He was a true friend, gentle-man, loving and just a beautiful human being. His smile was contagious. He will be forever missed and I will keep his memory alive in my heart always. To Zita and Joe's family please accept my deepest sympathy. Your loss is Heavens gain. Save a seat at the next pool for me, Joe. I hear it is a lot better than the one we had in Majestic Palms. Until we meet again...Love you, Joe "Nice Guy"!!!

My deepest condolences go out to all of Joey's family and friends. Although I never met Joey I have heard so many wonderful stories about him from his grandchildren and Angel Quiles. I can't help but feel the sadness for the tremendous loss of a wonderful man, brother, grandfather, and friend. May your memories of him be cherished forever. May you have comfort in knowing he is not suffering anymore and in knowing he is always with you.

Joey will be missed...He was a great person to know. He has brought so much love and fun into my families lives. My heart is broken to see such a wonderful man leave us. I speak for my daughters and myself when I say we are going to miss all the good times we spent together... summers, holidays, and 4th of Julys. Thank you Joey for showing me how to be a wonderful man through your support over the years. My deepest condolences to all family and friends. R.I.P. Joey.

My deepest condolences are extended to the Donatone family, friends, former colleagues and those lucky enough to have crossed paths with “Joe Donatone, nice guy!” The profound loss felt is only comforted by the belief that you, my dear friend Max, are finally free from the sufferings of cancer that you endured and fought over these past seven months. May you forever bask in the sun and once again be together with your “brothers” and loved ones who passed before you and helped you cross over. I am forever grateful to have 24 years of memories to cherish. With love always, please watch over us all and rest in peace!
