Juliette Mallett Obituary

Juliette Rose (Fortin) Mallett, 86, of East Hartford, loving wife of the late William P. Mallett, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Born in Lisbon, ME on December 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ida (Yargeau) Fortin. With heavy hearts but loving memories, we announce the passing of our beloved mom, memere, great-memere, aunt and friend. She devoted her life to her family; raised five children and spent many years as a home daycare provider, lovingly caring for others' children. She will be remembered as a generous, kind and patient woman who was blessed with many talents. Her handmade crochet and quilted blankets will continue to warm members of her family and her lovely paintings and drawings will be lovingly displayed. She was a wonderful cook who never failed to have a delicious meal waiting for those who came into her home. She will be dearly missed by her four surviving children, Robert and Carol Mallett of Manchester, James Mallett of Meriden and his partner June Schmidt, Susan and Dave Strickland of Middletown and Joan and David Gendreau of Ellington; her daughter-in-law, Jane Mallett, of Pownal, ME; her ten cherished grandchildren, Bradley Jr., Tracy, Amanda, Shannon, Amber, Brian, Eric, Michael, Matthew and Samuel; her twelve adored great-grandchildren, Richard, Rachael, Ryan, Billy, Christopher, Tyler, Noah, Sydney, Ethan, Jonah, Will and Kaitlyn; her brother-in-law, Ralph Garnett and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. In addition to her husband of 51 years, Juliette was also predeceased by her beloved son, Bradley W. Mallett, Sr. and her siblings, Roger, Herman, Jeanne and Doris. Special gratitude to her niece, Donna Horne, and to the VNA of Vernon for their loving care and compassion. Mom, while our hearts are broken, we shall find solace and comfort knowing you are resting peacefully and are now reunited with loved ones. Until we meet again...we love you. A funeral service will be held on Monday (April 27) at 12 noon at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford. Friends and family may call on Monday prior to the service, from 10 a.m.-12 noon, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Donations in Juliette's memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108 or to Pownal Fire & Rescue, 429 Hallowell Rd., Pownal, ME 04069.
